rock star
I love taking pictures of my kids, they are three of the most beautiful things on this earth. I have just recently started taking pictures and have found I really enjoy it. I love sharing photos with others that enjoy it and love looking at other photographers work in hopes that I too could be that gifted.

Tuned to a smile
I went to Mexico today and had a lovely time as always:)
I asked this little man to teach me to play..., but I was horrible:(
But he pointed at my camera and I snapped a couple of shots...
This is what came out:)

8th Street revisited
S'more neighbors of mine when I lived in Allentown, PA this summer for internship number 1
I excitedly accepted the internship and found an apartment in a rowhouse before I'd even been to Allentown... let alone Pennsylvania. When i told people at work that i lived downtown, they gasped. one by one.
Living downtown wasn't bad, non-downtowners (mostly white) were just caught up with the their newspaper headlines of mounting murders in that area and the recent influx of Puerto Rican immigrants.
It pained me to have outsiders look down on the downtown neighborhoods and I became defensive. They were just missing out on the spice of it.

May this moment last forever too!
If we could all simply hug each other just a little more, what a warmer place this Earth would be...
If we could all simply share just a little more with each other, what a fantastic life we would all be living...
If we could all simply love one another just a little more than we do, what a friendly place this planet would be...
If we could all simply care just a little more about each other, what a wonderful world this would be...
If...? If...? If...? If...?
Why so many if’s, when all we need to do is act like it was Christmas; every minute of each hour, every hour of each day, every day of each week, every week of each year, and every single year of our lives.
Born today and gone tomorrow, we don’t have time to waste!
We need to hug each other more, feel more love from each other, care more about each other, and share a little more of our abundance with those less fortunate.
Make your Christmas spirit last forever; embrace this wonderful Christmas present brought to you by our dear friend and supporter, Marília (Mylens)
I thank all friends and colleagues on Flickr who have contributed, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much for sharing your Christmas with our children, may this moment last forever!

Dark eyes, wide smiles
Some of the new friends I made while visiting Angkor Wat over the Full Moon Festival. I had a great time talking in Khmer with this cute kiddos and showing them how my camera works. They couldn't get enough of my picture-taking. Unfortunately a nosey tourist took advantage of our playtime to take some photos of his own. It really ruined the moment, but we still did our best to have fun!

At the Well
Girls at Kankaren Kachi well, outside a small village in rural Niger. A sight familiar across Africa, young girls like these work for hours each day hauling water from wells and carrying it back to their homes for drinking, washing and watering animals. This can consume anywhere from a couple to six hours or more a day. This well is over 50 metres (150 feet) deep- back-breaking work! But they were still happy to stop and chat to us as we passed by. For them this is just normal.

Sprites
The three girls on a windy day in 2004 at Lake Michigan. This is a totally unstaged shot, I should add. They're standing on an incline watching the waves crash against the rocks on the shore. It was their first time seeing wave-action that violent and they were--as you can see--amazed.

Deng & Son
The little boy got in an argument with an angry rooster, got scared, and took refuge on the lap of his father.
Deng works where he's needed, mostly in the flower fields, sometimes helping buiding up a house. Around 17:00 He's often with most of the young guys of the village playing football just above the village.
He's a really nice guy, we spend hours drinking tea and talking about the village's life in Thai, which it is for none of us the first language.
